Moon Enters Leo

After rejuvenating in the waters of Cancer, a confident Queen bearing bright rays and golden promise of authentic victory rides in pageantry. Our lady of Solar Reflections moves toward fullness, magnanimously in Leo. Bare branches pick up her light and shimmer along the road in an ancient forest. 

Just as she turns on the path toward peak light, a jovial soul, part warrior, part sage, stands at the edge of the woods, building momentum beside a campfire. Jupiter in Aries invites Luna to share the heat. She dismounts her horse to celebrate this rosy philosopher, and they roar by the fire together in celebration of wise revelations in justice, the fight for inner illumination, and the evolution of Self.

What is being harvested in your self awareness? What opposing tensions are emerging in your life?

Luna explains she is on her way to oppose the Sun’s light and Saturn’s dark, both determined to break her will. Jupiter tells her about Venus in Pisces, a beautiful ingenue he is hosting in his temple but hasn’t laid eyes on.  His host, Mars in Gemini (a rather loquacious scoundrel), has a thing for her. It’s messy. 

A clatter of erotic contention fills the wood, progressively getting closer and louder. A few feet down the road, the Sunny Moon comes across Mars, besotted and beside himself, arguing to apparently no one. There is no sign of his Muse in Madness, Venus in Pisces, but their square aspect scandalizes the timid woodland creatures.

Enlivened by a sexy nod from Mars, Our Lady of Leadership focuses her steed toward what she intends to be a regally individuating meeting with the Sun. Like the Sun, she must pass through a destabilizing square to Uranus in Taurus.  At Luna’s peak light the Aquarian Sun stands opposite her, and off to the side in a not-quite-perfect T formation, Uranus sends lightning bolts to and between Sol and Luna. The ground rumbles, but Luna is ferociously happy to continue her ride toward self-expression. 

Sol, imbued by Saturn, says, “We need to get to work, the people are suffering, times are grave, and no one person is more important than another.” Luna says, “And so we must make them happy, encourage them to play with a full-spirited sense of identity so that they see the light in each other.” They disagree, and tension builds, but the instability of Uranus pushes the Our Lady of Fortune forward with her brave heart aligned toward freedom.

Even as she passes an opposition to Saturn in Aquarius, her light within brims enough to see he is on his way to another temple soon and will no longer be there to block her enthusiasm. 

This is the last time in 2.5 years the Full Lion Moon will be stared down by the chilly Lord of Death.  How we relate to our selfhood informs our relationships and work in the world. The Leo Sector of your chart is soon to regain its vibrance. 

Moon Enters Virgo

Luna dismounts her high horse and shapeshifts into a Mercury’s Maiden Moon in Virgo. Complete unto herself, barefoot and earnest, she counts seeds in preparation for a not-too-distant Spring. She’s been drifting void of course, for several hours and feels the need to get going. Her diligent tending to future fruits of the land will pay off in due time, but for now, she too begins to pad her way down the lunar road through the wood.

Luna’s time in Virgo is considerably quieter; she's been handed the baton of fortune and is ready to do the work needed. In the sign of the Virgin, Luna loves to organize and tessellate. If she had ducks she’d put them in a row, label, dust them and then show them how to fix a flat tire. A lot came to light with the Leo Moon that now requires finishing touches. 

As Luna makes her way down the treed path, she begins a list in her head. By enumerating the steps that will deliver the best service to the most people at the right time, she can make good with this abundance of remaining light. But sometimes, even she is overwhelmed by all the moving parts.

The scoundrel, Mars in Gemini, leans against a silver fir tree looking sly and impudent. He’s trying out some of his new psyop weapons on passers-by. “Hey Sister,” he calls to the mentally busy Moon, “I get the sense you’re not very clever. There is no way you could possibly accomplish all you have planned. Are you feeling well? You look a little tired. Maybe you should give up and pass the buck.” He’s mastered the delivery, and his words sink in. Luna begins to doubt herself. 

Without warning, two lovers burst forth from the dense wood, chasing each other, laughing and occasionally stopping to feel their shared excitement. It’s a joyful vibe, sudden and exciting. Their pure revelatory enjoyment and freshness break the spell Mars has cast on the Moon. Venus in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus, shake Luna with full support and a touch of inspired challenge. Luna is reinvigorated to her tasks despite feeling a little hazy from Neptune in Pisces offering wine in the middle of the day.

Mercury in Capricorn further imbues Luna with confidence in her earthy mentation and the ability to get the job done. The goaty psychopomp is nearing his mind meld with Pluto in Capricorn. It will be a momentous meeting, and both lend Our Lady of Diligence the power to finish well.

Moon Enters Libra

Called to make quick scene changes with diplomatic style, Luna sheds her mutable skin for cardinal beauty as she enters the air sign of Libra. As if arriving from a dream, she floats across the woodland floor blindfolded, bedecked in white robes, wielding the sword of discernment but led by a diaphanous heart. 

Luna’s host Venus in Pisces lends over-the-top aspirations for love and idealism to this pretty Moon. Jupiter warms her with an abundance of aggressive goodwill, and she, in turn breathes gayety into his fire.

Her gentle harmony infuses the forest and it’s creatures. Her sword clarifies and gives everyone a purpose. Birds begin to sing entire ballads. The squirrels stack their nuts sculpturally. Travelers along the road are drawn toward her, breaking into spontaneous plays about equity and justice. Even Mars takes to making silver jewelry from swords. The air is sweet with art, music, laughter, and peaceful bonds.

At the scene of an emergent mass wedding of rabbits, Our Lady of Social Concern becomes uncomfortable. Despite the harmony she disseminates, the demands begin to weigh on her delicate nature. She cannot keep supplying all the good air to everyone who needs it. Committed to both beauty and freedom, her touch is light, and she must oxygenate the most potent unions.

The grand moment arrives; a much-anticipated Summit of Secrets at the forest’s center commences. Scribe Mercury in Capricorn merges with Pluto in Capricorn for the final time in all our lifetimes.

In Luna’s 11th hour, as if by magic, Mercury slips into the futuristic ether of Aquarius. In six short weeks Pluto will do the same. We are transitioning from a focus on Saturn’s earthy feminine domicile to an airy masculine, brave new world.
