Most of the time, we are like children snugly cradled in Luna’s lap. As our closest celestial body, our Lady of Fortune translates Sol’s light and decodes planetary guidelines, spinning Her karmic web around Mother Earth like candy floss. But, when her light is blocked during a lunar eclipse, all transmissions temporarily come to a halt. On March 25 at midnight PT (your time), the lunar South Node, Ketu, unrepentantly steals Luna’s delicate confection, suspending all communication and leaving us Earthly souls to our own devices as we ride the waves of change. Are you ready for some cosmic cooking?
As soon as her silver slipper presses into one of Libra’s fluffy clouds, Luna catches sight of Pluto’s stylish ebony crown. Still adjusting to his Aquarian home, the Dark Lord’s foreboding gestures, reflect the dim nature of His Underworld. With a seductive twinkle in his eye, Pluto beckons Our Lady to walk deeper into the mystery. Filled with Sol’s radiant light, she no longer moves about effortlessly, though she’s eager to disperse her gifts that were conceived at the inception of this cycle, the New Moon in Pisces.
Placing ample amounts of grace and diplomacy on the Scales, planets in Libra usually excel in fostering peaceful relationships. Aided by ruler Venus, a skillfully forged compromise is always the best strategy. For Aphrodite, genuine happiness only blossoms when everybody wins. By navigating interpersonal dynamics with sensitivity and sophistication, she helps us develop more profound methods of self-contemplation. Keeping the fulcrum of her scales safely in the middle, Venus usually knows how to help her guests maintain composure even in challenging situations.
An eclipse, however, can awaken unresolved tensions simmering beneath the surface. With one grand brush of his tail, Ketu removes Luna’s reassuring hand from our quivering shoulders. The umbilical cord tethering us to fate’s quintessential mother is severed by the shadow planet, bringing experiences and challenges that might help us resolve past relationship karma.
Libra’s domicile and exaltation hosts, Venus and Saturn, respectively, provide a paradox of flexibility and rigidity. Adhering stringently to external expectations and rules and surrendering too readily to people’s wishes can suppress our true desires and stifle any creative impulses. The well of soul-nourishing social interactions may feel parched; we might struggle to assert our needs and boundaries with equanimity. Mourning a lack of authenticity and self-expression, we, or those around us, might lose the ability to hold space for one another.
Have you been prioritizing the needs of others to maintain peace? Avoiding conflict may preserve superficial harmony in the short term, but in the long run, festering seeds of resentment or feeling undervalued can take root. Ultimately, this inner turmoil might tip the scales and let plastic peace erupt in discord. Are you shelving an important decision because you don’t want to rock the boat? Consider the danger of fomenting unhealthy patterns because of indecisiveness or dodging confrontation. It’s okay to be the head chef in your own kitchen.
Co-present in Pisces, Venus and Saturn are engaged in a carefully choreographed underwater ballet while soft, ethereal melodies echo in the background. Yet beneath the shimmering surface of their refined dedication and admiration lies a fleeting awareness of the transient nature of their loving dance, and the inevitability of parting. It is a bittersweet moment, tinged with the ache of separation.
Coaxed away from her blissful pursuits, Venus now has the daunting task of accommodating not one but two relentless toilers in her sanctuary. Mars, having recently plunged into the Piscean pool, courses toward Saturn. Together, they are ceaseless in their labor, leaving no room for reprieve! Versatile in their endeavors and warmly supported by their host Zeus from a sextile, their efforts effectuate a work of love.
A rush of flavor, an intoxicating aroma of possibility, permeates the kitchen of life. Let every stir of the spoon and every dash of spice fill you with the certainty that you are the master chef so that you can craft smaller and greater miracles from the mundane.
Consider this…
We find ourselves halfway through the Aries/Libra eclipses which began on April 20, 2023, with a solar eclipse at 29° Aries. As might be expected, Mars gets the last word as the final eclipse of this Aries/Libra series will also take place in his fiery temple, more specifically at 9° Aries on March 29, 2025.
In the meantime, it is almost time for Hermes to polish his winged helm. Turning retrograde on April 1 at 27° Aries, Mercury is already slowing down. It’s hot in the kitchen, and there’s still work to be done!
