Evaporating droplets shimmer in the cool nighttime sky as Luna catches her breath. The hilly land of the Horned Goat doesn’t offer any easy-breezy routes, as the path ahead is always dizzyingly steep. It takes persistent determination to reach the intended destination. Weighed down by her fullness, our Lady Fortuna struggles to get a firm grip on the cold rocks.
The Sun in Cancer propels her forward by projecting homey images on her silvery satin cloak. Enveloping her current abode in a radiant glow, Luna dwells upon her long-lost roots in Cozy Crabstead. In Capricorn, the Moon is a long way from home, and her wistful yearning for an exit from this vale of tears hardens her like the cliffs that surround her.
Trailing the fever of the recent Venus-Uranus square, this lunation’s dry Capricornian chill inspires a more realistic commitment. Doing what needs to be done feels far easier and more satisfying than usual. Get your hooves in a row and take the goat by the horns!
One cannot be short of themes while there is still plenty of reality ― Cesare Zavattini (Full Moon in Capricorn)
The absence of Airy planets is noticeable. Buzzing ideas and reflection make room for practicality and concrete developments. A tenacious attitude of plowing through tips the scales against careful contemplation. Personal involvement dominates this Water-Earth syzygy and prompts us to stick to familiar values and habits. Maintaining material and emotional comfort is preferred over aspired progress.
It is no longer about letting imaginary things become reality, but rather about letting things, just as they are, become as meaningful as possible. ― Cesare Zavattini (Full Moon in Capricorn)
Lord of Curmudgeons, Saturn, absorbed and distracted by the fact that his Piscean ship is sailing in the wrong direction, is not in the mood or capacity to throw Luna a reliable rope. With melancholic eyes piercing through the depths of the ocean, he fishes for inspiration, re-valuing and re-imagining tried and true ways.
Still, help is on the way through the Moon’s translation of the light from Jupiter to the Sun. Funneling Zeus’s promise of optimism and opulence straight to the Sun’s glorious light, Luna delivers a hopeful, heartfelt message for the future.
Through an uplifting sextile aspect to the Sun, Jupiter in Taurus offers spirited guidance as well as long-term strategies that support home and hearth. Expect gentle blessings coming from Jupiter’s location in your natal chart.
Happy to season this lunation phase with a sanguine dose of pizzazz, Zeus, Cancer’s honored exaltation ruler, boldly invests in the seismic potential of this cardinal syzygy. The solstitial axis of Cancer-Capricorn has the power to crack open an impasse, though breakthroughs in these feminine Yin signs tend to occur by means of a change of fortune rather than a conscious change of plans.
There’s no shortage of inner strength in Saturn’s Earth realm, where the climb to the top sends a surge of determination through Luna’s veins. Our Lady’s nostalgic longing for the intangible dissolves gradually through distant whispers, reminding her of the impermanence and cyclic nature of life. Once at the top, all the doubts and insecurities that plagued her in the past now inspire gratitude and a deeper appreciation for what is – in the here and now.
Consider this…
The traditional rulers of the Air signs, Saturn, Venus, and Mercury, currently do not enjoy the best conditions to offer their insights. Saturn is retrograde, Venus is slowing down to turn retrograde on July 22, and Mercury is blinded by the Sun’s beams. For anyone with a lot of Air placements in their natal chart, it might require extra effort to look at things objectively. Postpone any decisions. Taking enough time to reflect carefully before planning is crucial.
