Leaping through great golden licks of desire, Luna nods to Venus ascending from the underworld in her newly-adorned morning attire. These feminine planets chant our renaissance into existence, coaxing tightly held seeds to open and spill potency to fertile ground. Even as the season expresses its most enduring modality, there remains a feeling of possibility and potential. Sticky pollen-laced flowers are awash with bees carrying the sweetness of life from stamen to pistil.
Bringing with her Venus’s trials and tribulations, Luna wraps her fortuned arms around Sol on August 16, 2:39 am PT (your time zone) at 23 degrees of Leo, the king’s stately home. Coming on the heels of Venus’s rebirth, both celestial phenomena remind us that we were born to reinvent ourselves again and again.
What blockages and old narratives are being stripped away so new facets of your life can be reborn? Commit to your legacy by doing the hard work of renewal at this dark moon.
Leaving no earth unturned, Uranus in Taurus makes an exact square to the Sun and Moon, offering, perhaps begging, a new story that upends even the most fundamental narratives that guide our lives. Visible and invisible threads woven into the fabric of reality, those deemed predictable and known, are not as fixed as we believe. Transforming entrenched ways may be difficult, but necessary.
What we see changes what we know. What we know changes what we see.
― Jean Piaget (Sun/Moon and Venus in Leo)
This is a time of our choosing. A starry moment of courage and creativity. A New Moon to cast our light, especially in the darkest places. The preponderance of Fire and Earth, and the lack of Air to distract us, implores us to take impassioned actions that open our sunflower hearts, attracting plump honey bees who will gleefully collect our nectar.
What makes life worth living? If you’ve lost the forest through the trees, Luna invites you to shine your personal Sun’s rays on what matters most. Perhaps it’s something lost that needs to be reclaimed. Maybe it’s something new and rebellious. As the lunar month proceeds, pay attention to the wisdom of your heart.
Behind the veils of aversion, Mercury and Mars in Virgo want none of the chaotic excitement that swirls in the heavens and on Earth. Their natural propensity is to harvest with precision and edit with careful consideration. With Uranus forming a ground-shaking trine to Mars (who is taking orders from Mercury), cunning and willpower are allies as we navigate unexpected energy surges.
Uranus, the liberator, frees all prisoners along changing fault lines. The cracks beneath the surfaces can hold no longer, nor do we want them to. Let the unexpected derail you, and be willing to adapt. A pivot is not a failure.
Last chance to sign up for AO’s second Astro Salon! Join us for a creative discussion on the significance of the Nodal shift into Aries and Libra, on August 24, 11 am – 12:15 pm PT. There are a few spots left. Limited to 12 people.
On August 23, the celestial spheres bring a trifecta of change to the landscape. The Sun ingresses Virgo joining Mercury, who begins his high and mighty retrograde (August 23-September 15). And Venus makes her heliacal rise, visible in the eastern sky just before sunrise, as sunflowers lift their heavy seeds to the Sun.
On the one hand, the cosmos provides a smidgeon of clarity channeled by a visible Venus but then throws a curveball with an opposition from Mars to Neptune in Pisces. With the messenger, Mercury, already teetering in his “know it all” attitude, we may have to scramble to analyze the details with new eyes.
Every response, whether it be an act directed towards the outside world or an act internalized as thought, takes the form of an adaptation or, better, of a re-adaptation. ― Jean Piaget
The flower will fall if the bloom is too heavy for the stem. Be aware of persnickety judgments that won’t hold up with Mercury backpedaling and Neptune creating confusion. It’s okay not to have all the answers. Engage in due diligence, but avoid overthinking and projection.
Consider this…
In the heart of the lion’s den, momentum from the New Moon phase blesses us with confidence. Anchor your flowery fields of boldness. Build on your knowing. Strut proud, loud, theatrical, and childlike if that’s what moves you. Practice saying “yes” to life.
Dare to connect with your heart. You will be lifting not only yourself and those you love and care about, but also the world in which you live. – Doc Childre, HeartMath Founder
Thank you. I chime with what you say about constant reinvention having pulled the fool card 3 times in a row this week.
Michelle, this is precious, hauntingly familiar to the heart, beautiful! Reading this today is perfect!
