Hiding amongst the starry skies, the New Moon on March 10 at 12:59 AM PT (your time) is the last syzygy before the start of eclipse season. After conjoining the Sun in Pisces, Luna will orbit through the zodiac to Libra, where she will oppose the Sun in Aries, forming a lunar eclipse on March 25. Two weeks later, Luna catches up to Sol in Aries, ushering in a total solar eclipse on April 8.

Luna, captivated by the misty muse of metaphor, transfixes her gaze at the water’s edge. Psychedelic waves of movement reflect the gravid emptiness of her dark face, beckoning a creative voyage beneath the surface. Too close to Sol to hold any light, she embraces the opportunity to reinvent herself anew. To do so will require sensitive immersion and a willingness to descend into fluid, liminal space.
Surrounded by midnight waters, Luna hears the Fishes splash their Piscean message: experience first, meaning later. Without hesitation, she soaks her whole Self in the generative and difficult ripples of grief and blessed longing with only cycles of faith to guide her.
There is much to be gained in this potent cycle when you follow Luna’s lead. As symbolic (and literal) dark gives over to light, take advantage of intimate encounters that stir the soul’s reach. Soon enough, Aries’ fire and the swiftness of the eclipses will brand new meaning into your flesh. Be here now.
Gently, Luna guides us into a ritual of renewal, a baptism of sorts, a plunge into the heart of creative catharsis and sublime sorrow. Flanked by Saturn on one side and Neptune on the other, contrasting emotions rise to consciousness, diamond-studded thoughts and feelings on a multi-dimensional ride. In its wake, kindness, compassion, and hopefulness buoy all intentional acts of healing.
Make waves in the paradoxical crests between the real and unreal. Accepting our limitations is a gift to the unbridled imagination. Experience first, meaning later. Inspiration first, materialization later.
Whale sounds echo into fathomless waters while buried seeds whistle their nascent tune. Tingling in the Bull’s sign, Uranus forms a harmonious, earthy sextile to the entwined Lights while receiving a separating square from Mars in Aquarius. Luna, floating on her back, begs for patience as raw passion tries to hurry breakthrough inventions.
Choosing to tap into the cooperating elements of earth and water, our Queen of the Tides shakes off habitual ways of being, freeing up the dreams of the body to take shape. More comfortable with change than adhering to the status quo, she invites synchronicities that bridge inner and outer resources. Opportunities abound for the edge walkers, those who listen intuitively at the threshold between the worlds.
“You are made by knowing that you can’t be made or unmade. Understand who you are without your beliefs about who you should be. Stop clipping the wings of life’s magic.” (A snippet from “The Birds Wrote Me A Poem” by

And what of Jupiter, Pisces’s reigning prince? Luna breaks the surface of underwater dreams and bows to the Lightning Rod of the cosmos. Abundant in his gifts, he casts thunderous circles of coherence, boons of generosity, a balm for the suffering. Hurling joyful bolts of light to the naysayers, he moves ever closer to Uranus for a fated conjunction in late April. Everything unfolds in divine time, and all signs point to innovative, initiatory acts that make way for new life.
Hours after the New Moon, Mercury leaves behind the murky poetics of Pisces, endowed with a farewell kiss from Neptune. Knowing comes in many forms. Drying drenched wings in Aries’ fire, Hermes is the bold harbinger of eclipse omens, the equinox, and the astrological new year. The first to test the flames of change, Mercury pioneers all that will be burned into being.
Poised at the precipice of being and doing, what courageous communications will embolden emergent dreams to fruition? Be discerning in what you share and with whom when it comes to your big ideas and healing journey; Mercury will station retrograde in Aries on April 1st. Overly confident promises may need to be reeled back.
Feeling blessed by the greater benefics, Luna senses the support of her cosmic cronies. Venus, soon to enter her exalted home of Pisces, is beauty in poetry, goosebumps, and deep connection. Laying claim to the wellspring of regeneration, Luna honors the dignified goddess and the depth of our gorgeous amphibian natures. The feminine spirits know that intuition and divine revelations are guided by eros.

Consider this…
The planets are on the move as they position themselves ready for the lunar eclipse. Between the New and Full Moon, the Sun will enter Aries, Venus will conjoin Saturn, and Mars will enter Pisces. This is preparation time, an opportunity to fine-tune the dance of being and doing.
Also, mark your calendar for a sweet Moon Jupiter conjunction on March 13 at 13 degrees of Taurus. It’s the last time these two will meet in the Bull’s sign for twelve years. Water your garden, feed the birds, cook a bountiful meal, and share it with others.
In six months from now, we will experience an eclipse very near to the degree of this Pisces New Moon. Use this month’s lunar cycle not only as preparation for the upcoming eclipse season but also as a tuning fork toward untold chapters in the novel of you.
