As I pen thoughts about the New Moon, exact on June 6, 5:37 AM (your time), Venus is in the heart of the Sun (Cazimi), while Mercury, still fresh in domicile, joins Jupiter. These Gemini transits empower communication in relationships and remind us to choose a social media diet that aligns with our core values and beliefs while expanding new insights, ideas, and connections.
Two years ago, Astrum Opus began with a Gemini New Moon. Since then, we’ve posted 207 articles, produced nearly as many original digital collages, expanded our writing team, and diversified our offerings with an emphasis on building community. (If you use the app, check out our Chats!)

Contrasting cloud patterns permeate the starry night sky. Carried along the oracular seams of consciousness, images of Zeus’s thunderbolt and Hermes’ wings float and transmute swiftly across the landscape. Can you make out Aphrodite’s heart? Shapeshifting amongst the billowing veils, she journeys to an evening star.
In the dark of the New Moon, mutable airwaves crackle possibility as the Twins host the social gathering of the season. Esteemed guests Jupiter and Mercury tingle still from their conjunction, informed by their tango trine to Pluto in Aquarius. Exiled thoughts dance their way to the surface, primed to impact cherished connections, consequences be dammed. Words, strewn together nervously, are a conduit to important discoveries if we are willing to take risks.
Vulnerability is required to further the big works of our time. Sharing and processing new ways of thinking or revisiting repeating patterns is rarely comfortable. What mind tricks can you employ to help bring useful buried material to light? Affirmations? Entertaining worst-case scenarios? Being the observer? Prayer? In Gemini, the more tricks, the better.
Adding to the flurry, Venus, the Sun, and the Moon boldly flaunt their throuple at this pregnant lunar cycle. A flirty, engaged mind longs to entertain all possible connections to the point of overwhelm. Meandering between endless variables and the coherent whole, seeing the forest through the trees is difficult, especially when the Sun’s charged light leaves dust bunnies in the air. Still, Luna and Sol are flanked by the benefics, the keepers of goodness. Blessings are available, though they may appear fleeting and clouded.
The Venus Cazimi, still in effect when the Moon meets the Sun at 16 degrees, marks a reset for this Mind Goddess in Gemini. Anchor free-floating thoughts and cloud seeds of opportunity that have graced your radar. Write them down, lest you forget. Once again, and all too soon, Venus will be combust and confused once more under the beams of the Sun until July 8. If you want clues to how Venus’s new synodic cycle may unfold, look to your Gemini house and stroll down memory lane to June 6, 2016, the last time Venus was reborn in this sign.
Heavy rain clouds hover in the distance, expanding and contracting. Our exuberant trio meets Saturn in Pisces by square, where the Water-logged Devil has the upper hand. Promises made in the open love boat of the Venus Cazimi become drenched with solemn truths. That’s not all bad, however. A dose of maturity and integrity adds depth to the breath of Gemini’s capricious ways. A cold shower may just be what’s needed to temper impulsive acts of flight. Sustainable anything takes time and effort, after all.
If the energy of Gemini has you frazzled, check in with Saffron’s Gemini New Moon meditation attuned to Dalmatian Stone. “By embarking on our own mental adventure and tapping into our imagination, we can transport ourselves back to a time when life was simpler…” Link here.
Consider this…
With two Cazimi’s happening in the youthful sign of Gemini this lunar month, put your focus on new horizons. Be open to fresh ideas that align with your values and push you out of your comfort zone… but not off a cliff.
Mars will slow way down, leaving the active Aries domain he rules for the pastures of Taurus starting June 8 to July 20. On June 11, Mars will square Uranus, an especially tempestuous time. Be aware.
Next Wednesday, we’ll share more about the Mercury Cazimi which perfects on June 14. Stay tuned!
